Shanghai Wu Mengchao Medical Science Foundation (WMSF), established on June 1st 2004, is a non-profit organization with legal entity of social organization authorized by competent government agency as per Regulations on the Registration and Administration of Social Organizations and Regulations on Foundation Administration.
The creation of this logo was inspired by the belief that a healthcare welfare is enabled and driven by a caring public. The red cross, symbolizing the medical non-profit, is raised by two overlapping hearts that represent the confluence of the entire society’s care and efforts. WMSF is such an organization that upholds noble mind and outstanding skills of medical professionals and that facilitates the growth of China’s medical science.
Wu Mengchao is a pioneer and founder of the hepatic surgery of China, one of the important pioneers of researches on liver cancer and one of the facilitators of the hepatic surgery cause in the international community, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor, a doctorial tutor and a CPC member, was presented the 2005 National Science and Technology Award in 2006. At present Wu is the director of the Eastern Hepatobiliary Hospital of Second Military Medical University and its Eastern Research Institute for Hepatobiliary Surgery. Moreover, he works as the director of the Advisory Committee of the Chinese Medical Association.
